Senior Advisor

Dr. Reza Dana is a distinguished physician-scientist— he hold the CH Dohlman Chair in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and serves as a Senior Scientist at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear; he is a leading expert in ophthalmology, immunology, and regenerative medicine, with special interest in immune-mediated disorders of the eye, transplant rejection, and autoimmunity. He has authored over 500 research papers, 150 reviews and chapters, and several books, and serves on the editorial board of several scientific journals including as Editor-in-Chief of Cornea. He is an inventor on 38 patents, has contributed to 16 INDs for topical biological therapies for ocular diseases, and serves as a member of the National Eye Advisory Council of the NIH. Reza has been honored as a “Gold Fellow” of the Association for Research in Vision and Opthalmology (ARVO) and has received numerous awards including the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, Research to Prevent Blindness’s Stein Innovation Award and Senior Scientific Investigator Award, ARVO’s Friedenwald Award and Cogan Award, and the Endre A. Balazs Prize from the International Society for Eye Research. In addition, he is a serial entrepreneur, having been the scientific founder of seven biotech companies including and Eleven Biotherapeutics (NASDAQ:EBIO) and SightStream (a 7G portfolio company).
